TAYS 2017

2017 was an eventful year for Tays. We loved watching her cheer at football games in the Fall, and then at basketball games in the Winter. Once cheer was over Tays played on the BE tennis team and decided to play singles instead of doubles like she had the year before. It was fun for her to try something new, she did very well and was asked to play a few varsity matches during the season. Tays lettered in both cheer and tennis. Tays turned 16 years old in 2017 and that was exciting for several reasons : ) Tays got her license on her 16th birthday, at midnight, online. She was ready to be "official" and to drive all on her own and without a parent like she had been required to do for the previous 6 months with her permit. We bought a little truck from Mike Richson that Tays quickly started calling by the name of "Chad"... unfortunately Chad was not with us long. While driving home from cross country practice Tays was hit by a Sakuma Brothers Truck and Chad was totaled. Thankfully Tay and KK were both ok after the scary incident. 

After several years of working towards her YW award, Tayler finished up working on her personal progress and earned her medallion. In Tayler fashion she worked hard to accomplish her goal and did so beautifully. She was recognized at a Young Womens evening where she shared her thoughts on the importance of earning her medallion. 

Tays had a busy summer, attending a BYU tennis camp where she earned the sportsmanship award. Tays spent many summer days practicing for the upcoming cross country season. She decided her Junior year to run cross country instead of cheer, she even talked Kinley into running with her on the team. She had a great season and loved being a part of the team and making new friends. She had her braces taken off which is always exciting and just in time for her first dance, Homecoming with Bowen King. She looked beautiful and had a blast!
